English actor. A matinee idol who appeared in more than 40 films, he was perhaps best known for the lead role in the long running British tv series "The Adventures of Robin Hood" and appearing with Basil Rathbone in "The Hound of the Baskervilles" (1939). Also appeared in "The Blood of Fu Manchu" (1968), "The Castle of Fu Manchu" (1968) and "Tales from the Crypt" (1972).
