This portrait is an original artwork by a well known Soviet artist Borymchuk Michail ( 1926 - 2013 ). This artist is included in ‘Russian and Soviet Painters' by British scholar Matthew Cullerne Bown. You can read about the artist below.
This work was painted in 1960s and on sale was signed on the back side.
It was acquired from the private collection of Borymchuk's family.

MATERIALS: oil, cardboard
MEASURES: 25,6 cmH x 17,2 cmW (10.1” x 6.8”)

ABOUT THE ARTIST:

Borymchuk Michail ( 1926 - 2013 )
Michail Borymchuk was born in the village Popelnya of the Zhitomyr region in 1926.
In 1954 he graduated from Kiev State Art Institute. His teachers were V.Kostecky, I.Shtillman, G.Melikhov.
He had been a member of the National Union of Artists since 1967.
He had created numerous landscapes and portraits. He permanently participated at the national art exhibitions.
Borymchuk lived and worked in Kiev.
He died in 2013.
