I am in love with this fabulous heavy antique red tin tole divided box...I'm not certain if it was used for tea, grain, herbs, spices, or sewing...perfect for anything. I think that this tin is ideal for holiday and Christmas decor. It has gold tole accents around the finial on top and around the edges as well as the gold design around the bottom. I believe that this large sturdy tin dates to the 1880s. The lid sits very tightly and securely on the base. The flip latch has broken off due to its use over the years, it is soft to the touch which leads me to believe that it happened years ago.
