Emerald is a gemstone that gets its striking color by trace amounts of chromium, and in some cases vanadium. This member of the beryl family ranks among the traditional "big four" gems along with diamonds, rubies and sapphires. Emeralds have been mined as far back as ancient Egypt dating back to 1500 BC. Emeralds can be found all over the world in many countries with Colombia being the biggest producer, accounting for over half of global production.

Muscovite is a form of Micah that gets it's name from the term Muscovy-glass, originating in medieval Russia where the mineral was used as a cheaper alternative to glass. More recent applications have found Micah used as a stand in for glass in high temperature applications such as furnaces and older wood stoves. Micah can also be found in cosmetics and body washes adding a natural sparkle to the product.
