Product code: George Washington on sale Medal/Token very unique
This is a George Washington Medal/Token. This token is very different from the others you may have seen before. This coin is all silver in color where as most are bronze colored. This coin is a double headed coin when other coins of this type bear two different die stamps. This coin has a medal orientation but it is misaligned significantly. This coin resembles the George Washington funeral tokens that were reproduced fifty years ago and farther back and has the hole that some claim was put in the coin for a necklace to fit through it. Older tokens bore the hole so soldiers could attach them to there coats. This is not one of those reproductions I mention. I recently sold a reproduction and I have included a picture of that coin as the last photo available, so you can see the on sale difference. I have located only one other of this exact coin/medal/token, and it was discovered in Lexington Virginia, the home of W&L college, Washington and Lee, George Washingtons namesake college!.
