on sale "Protective Mare" is an original watercolor painting on Arches 140 pound, cold press, acid free paper. This original watercolor was inspired by a photograph I took on a trip to New Jersey for a family wedding shower. The field was full of horses and I was in my glory! This mare was being protective of her little one and I snapped a photo at just the right time. I've always loved horses and even had one of my very own many years ago. It was a dream come true! Nowadays I no longer have a horse of my own but when I see a horse in a field I remember when... with such fondness!
