Antique Silver Shaker Locket, Edwardian Silver and Glass Shaker Locket, French Pendant c. 1910 on sale
This charming small shaker locket is likely from the Edwardian period, circa 1910. It features a glass pendant piece which is framed by a silver halo, and contains a separate removable backing. The backing is hallmarked with two crabs and a silversmith mark, guaranteeing at least 800 silver purity. Shaker lockets were so called as they were used to store gemstones which would shake as the wearer moved. This shaker locket is in very good condition with a few small cracks to the glass, visible in photos. The silver is in excellent condition and the back closes very securely.
