Product code: Vintage Asian on sale Cinnabar Carved Cachepot Trinket Box
This beautiful cinnabar pumpkin shaped trinket box that has been intricately carved with leafy tendrils, vines and finely cross hexed giving some depth to the design. Cinnabar is made up of layers of lacquer built up one on on sale top of the other and it is the laquer that is carved, not the wood. Measures approximately 5 inches diameter and 4.5 inches to stem top. This is in excellent vintage condition with some slight scratch marks and a few flea bite nicks that are hard to see. The bottom has small nicks underneath the lid on the rim. There s a tiny black mark on the stem that is smooth and just part of its original painting. Please see all close ups.
