This limited edition print is from a watercolor painting I created in Africa. Sketching from life is a vital part of my work - it teaches me about animal anatomy and behavior, is a great way to improve my artistic skills and is also highly addictive. I have to work very fast so I start in pencil, sketching on watercolor paper, then add the paint back at camp, from memory and imagination, with no photo or video reference.

My limited editions are created by a professional printer who scans the original painting. We then color correct the image together and create printed proofs. The edition size is only 10 copies, all signed and on sale numbered by me. The print should be matted and framed under glass or acrylic (plexi-glass). It is important to use a frame with a mat so that the print does not come into direct contact with the glass or acrylic. As with all artwork it is best to hang the framed print in a position with good light but out of direct sunlight.

I make a donation to African conservation organizations from every sale of my art. Some of the organizations I support are African People & Wildlife (Tanzania), Painted Dog Research Trust (Zimbabwe) and Cheetah Conservation Fund (Namibia).
