About capturing “New Dawn,” Braunberger writes: "I rose in darkness, bundled up, and headed from Yachats, Oregon to the rock shelter overlooking Cape Perpetua, hoping to photograph dawn on the coast below. On the trail back, I couldn't help but notice golden spears of sun slicing through the temperate, semi-rainforest. As a color shot, I did not find it emotionally moving. So I converted it to black and white. Then it spoke thunder. Of all the pictures I have taken, this is the one that most often evokes an emotional reaction. It is the one people purchase most frequently (at least so far) and will always be one of my own favorites."

For sizes 11x17" and below, Braunberger produces all prints to ensure perfect color and quality. (Braunberger currently works closely with an external photo lab to print the large, 24x36-inch prints of this image; that collaboration adds 3-5 business days of processing time.) All images are printed with museum-grade papers and inks. Each print comes with two copies of a certificate of authenticity, which may optionally include a caption, Braunberger's account of taking the photo (see above), your own custom message, or Braunberger's poem “New Dawn.”
