Product code: Pink shawl, silk scarf, embroidered wrap, evening wrap, formal on sale shawl, beaded indian veil, long light pink paisley shawls

luxurious, soft silk shawl with ornate silver embroidered paisley designs, beading, and sequins.

this formal wrap was made from antique bridal sari. the fabric is a soft, lightweight silk georgette, which is similar to a chiffon, but a bit thicker. silver metallic embroidery, sequins, little gems, and beads run along the short edges. little embroidered and beaded paisleys are scattered across the rest of the scarf

the shawl is 52 inches by 34 inches.

the heavy embroidery gives weight to the edges, so the shawl swings and drapes beautifully as you move.

The fabric is in excellent shape.

This embroidery is done with zari thread, which is a metallic, wound thread. Traditionally, the threads were gold, silver, and other precious metals. Zari means "beautiful" in Swahili. That's you in this shawl!

Hand wash this scarf in cool water. Hang to dry. Press on gentle heat under a cotton cloth, or steam.
This is made from antique sari and may have signs of wear such as small, light stains or tiny holes. I do my very best to insure that each piece is as close to perfect as possible, but please remember that they came from saris that have been worn and loved by one or more women. If there is something that is unacceptable to you, that I missed, I will gladly take the piece back.

I purchase saris from a single mother in Delhi, who runs her own business selling vintage and antique fabrics. She acquires these saris from women during trips to remote villages throughout India. In this way, she provides a much-needed income to these villages and to herself and her son. It's very cool being a part of this network!
