Shawl - Rainbow and Heather - on sale Bee Stitch - Wool and Silk Blend with Shetland

RAINBOW AND HEATHER: Colors of the rainbows, rocky landscape, stone walls and drifts of heather on the Isle of Skye, Scotland. The Bee Stitch texture reminds me of walking across the uneven ground of the moors. I always wanted to walk on the moors and when I actually got to do it it was much harder to do than I had thought and I quickly got onto the narrow path the sheep had made.

BEE STITCH: Bee stitch makes a highly textured knitted fabric utilizing contrasting colors of yarn to make the texture pop.
Unlike many knitted shawls, the bee stitch pattern results in a tapestry look with its striking color patterns and distinct texture.

In this case I made a rectangular shawl with the multi-colored yarn in a wool and silk blend and the contrast and border in solid Shetland yarn. It has a beaded closure that can be easily removed if you prefer a different type of closure, such as a shawl pin. These shawls are individually named for locations or panoramas on the Isle of Skye.

Hand knit, durable, warm and very dense. Hand washed and blocked to stabilize color and sizing. A distinct textured and stylish shawl that is worn wrapped around your shoulders with the ends either hanging down or with one end thrown back over a shoulder. HOW IT on sale IS MADE: Hand knit in my interpretation of the bee stitch technique with yarns from Scotland and Japan. Hand washed and blocked to stabilize color and sizing. Comes packaged right side out in a clear protective bag so you can see the color without having to open the package should the color not appear as you expected.

Made in a smoke-free, cat-friendly home. The cat may have watched the shawl being knitted, but there has been no cat contact with the shawl after it was finished, hand washed, blocked and packaged ready to wear.
