Antique 19th century gold plated brass brooch with enamel and on sale foiled red glass stones

Beautiful antique brooch, dating from the nineteenth century, in gold-plated brass, with enamel. The brooch is set with five foiled rosecut red glass stones, imitating garnets, three large and two small. Leaf-like patterns are depicted on the brooch, enameled in white on sale with black details. Much of the gold plating is gone, as is some of the enamel. The foil brings out nice reflections in the stones.

The pin moves in the c clasp, but once the pin is attached, it holds well. There are surface scratches on the stones and wear marks, as on the brooch in general, but this is still a very nice piece, with lots of charm.
