The painting was created on the occasion of the Inktober 2021, representing, in fact, the word "extinct".
This illustration shows a match-man after he's burned, while the last puffs of smoke are rising from his "face".
I wanted it to be a conceptual illustration with a strong psychological component, and to somehow represent the moment of silence after facing a on sale hardship that almost destroyed us.
The particular effects of the background are created through the use of watercolor, white acrylic, white pen and charcoal.
