We are proud to introduce you with a short story a Colombian artistry for today's women: For thousands of years The Zenu, one of the many ancestral cultures in Colombia, have developed a highly distinctive approach to art through palm leaf weaving. Traditionally, these skills and techniques are learned in apprenticeships at informal community settings where women learn to braid and weave fibers while men sew them together using a pedal-powered machine.
Most of the woven symbols represent clans, boundaries, religious beliefs, and personal ancestral legacies. They also represent plants, flowers, animals, and most importantly: their own universal world view.
