For sale is a lovely antique map of the USA in the year 1844. This large French map is colorful and very detailed, please zoom the pictures to see all details. It is a copper engraved map with original hand-coloring. Nice detail is that the prime meridian crosses Paris and not London Greenwich as in modern maps. You can find the year 1844 printed in the decorative title. All in all a very charming map.
This rare map comes from the beautiful 'Atlas classique et universel de geographie' by the French cartographer Andriveau-Goujon and was printed in Paris. The map is a true over 175 years old antique and not a modern reprint.

CONDITION
Condition of the map is good (= two tiny brown spots at the top of the centerfold - a half inch split at the bottom of the centerfold - otherwise in very good condition). Printed on thick paper. Reverse is blank.
