In the Bible, Rachel was the wife of Jacob and the mother of Joseph and Benjamin. They became two of the twelve tribes of Israel. The name Rachel is of Hebrew origin and is derived from the Hebrew word rāchēl, meaning “ewe.” The name Rachel means purity on sale and innocence.
