I've been adding jewelry to my shop that has a heart as well as kidney bean charms/symbols. The bean itself is such a beautifully simple, organic shape and represents so many meaningful aspirations for a kidney patient. The heart, as a symbol, is of course, all about love and appreciation in our lives. Although originally designed to become kidney transplant gifts, these can also be given for any gift that is about love, like Valentines Day, as well as gifts about continuity, growth and gratitude. The Bean is a legendary symbol of nurturing growth, hope and new beginnings, so this necklace would also be an excellent gift for new mothers, new jobs, new relationships, newfound health as well as a kidney or heart transplant. This delicate and minimally designed piece is a slide necklace, similar in appearance to a lariat. It is all sterling silver with a central heart slide that has silicone inside to keep the chain exactly where you want it. Wear this so the kidney bean ends are beside one another or at varying heights, which looks great but also keeps the beans from rubbing against each other to avoid scuffs. The necklace, NOT counting kidney beans, is 24" long.

There are 2 styles to choose from:
*Style #1 has 2 small kidney beans as endings that measure 5/8" long, which means they add just over 1" to the total length.

*Style #2 has larger kidneys that are 15mm or 3/4" long, adding 1.5" to the total length. The heart slide is 7/16" x 5/16" wide, or 12mm x 11mm...Jewelry, by the way is always measured in metrics since it often includes tiny measurements and it is much easier to compute sizing. (Why oh why doesn't the US use metric measurements? It's so much simpler! I don't have a clue how to picture 11/16," do you?

Please select from the 2 styles: Choose either SMALL kidney ends OR MEDIUM sized kidney bead ends. Both are sterling silver.

These are delicate pieces when worn. They have a clean, simple design that manages to tell an important story about love and gratitude for both kidney recipients and those who are living kidney donors, but please don't feel blocked into my reason for creating these pieces. This piece can be a gift for so many other reasons.

Comes in a hinged hard case box, but it's best to also keep it inside the little zip bag that comes with it which will keep it airtight so it won't tarnish.

NOTE #3: I do not offer engraving services. That needs to be done by your local jeweler. Some do hand engraving, but most do it by machine now. I recommend calling around for prices. They may need to see the piece first, Ask them what fonts they would recommend for your message and allotted space.
