Snow-Bound : A Winter Idyl by John Greenleaf Whittier - The Limited Editions Club 1930

John Greenleaf Whittier (1807-1892) was an American Quaker poet and forceful advocate of the abolition of slavery in the United States.

This is a finely bound and designed book by the Limited Editions cloud published in 1930. It is signed by designer Carl Purington Rollins on colophon and is copy #348 of a total of 1500 produced. This is the 4th book produced by the LEC.

Hardcover book with dark blue silk (or silky) cloth over the spine and blue, black, and white cloth over the boards with a wispy white pattern (reminiscent of snowflakes). Gilt titles on spine. 41 pages. on sale Original blue paper covered slipcase included.

Condition: The book is fine condition. The only blemish is a prior bookseller pencil marking in the upper corner of the front free endpaper. The slipcase top edge paper is cracked along 1 side. Still attached and holding the book nicely though. The corners have some paper loss. The titles on the case's spine are a bit rubbed. So the slipcase is good.

Dimensions: 12" x 7.75"
