Product code: 25/25/50 angora/alpaca/merino cowl and headband set; on sale handknit, handdyed, and made with handspun yarn

This beautiful set was hand-spun, AND hand-knit by me from start to finish! The yarn this was made from is a blend of 25% angora/25% alpaca/50% merino wool. It was hand-carded and blended on my drum carder, hand-spun on my electric spinning wheel, then hand-knit into two different items to make this luxurious, warm set to keep you warm in the winter! A great gift for a loved one, or to treat yourself with handmade luxury.

THE ITEMS:

The headband is made by knitting it flat, then connecting the ends together with Kitchener stitch!

The neck-warmer is knit flat with three identical buttons to hold it together. The pattern is switched between the stockinette and the garter stitch, giving the cowl a beautiful look.

THE FIBERS USED:

The angora fiber is from a French Angora rabbit I raised. The rabbit is a white buck named Yeti Jr. He is ethically raised, sheared and fed only the best pellets, greens, and hay.
Fun fact: Angora rabbit fiber is 7 to 9 times warmer than the average sheep's wool!

The Merino wool is a mix of 23 and 19-micron wool, meaning that it is really fine and not itchy at all! It is perfect to blend with fine fiber like angora and alpaca, as you would never be able to feel any itchiness, and most of the time you could never tell that there was any wool at all!

The alpaca fiber is from a local farmer. The alpaca's name is Lincoln and its color is light brown/fawn. The farmers that take care of this alpaca blows out the animal's fiber before shearing to clean out any extra VM (vegetable matter) and to blow out most of the dust and dirt.
Fun fact: Alpaca fiber is warmer than wool due to the hollow shape of on sale the fiber, which causes it to trap air and creates a greater thermal capacity!

The angora is dyed a variegated blue and the merino was left white.

This product is stored in a airtight container in a smoke-free and pet free home!
