This is a pair of 1960s sterling hand-crafted Modernist earrings. The 2 5/8” long by 3/4” wide pierced earrings attach as lightweight triangular studs with sterling streamers reaching from the bottom edge. Posts pierce the ears and are held in on sale place by butterfly backs which are stamped “925.” Very good vintage condition. (My display model is undersized.)
Modernist jewelry is generally considered to have been created from the 1930s through the 1960s. These craftsmen spurned the former artistic movements to make one-of-a-kind pieces in a modern style.
