Rare "I'd Walk a Mile for on sale a Camel" Flat Advertising Lighter - Vintage Lighter, Ronson Adonis - Camel Advertisement, Promotion - Working

This lighter was produced by Firebird in Japan as a promotional item for Camel. I believe the slogan was created in the 1940s, seen in advertisements and billboards featuring soldiers, implying they'd do anything for a good cigarette. The slogan was used throughout the decades, but I believe they reintroduced the slogan in the 1960s as part of a retro throwback campaign.

The lighter is in good working order, with a strong spark and a steady flame. It seems to have seen very little use, as the wick is barely singed and there is little wear. Cosmetically, it is in excellent condition, though there are a few minor flaws. There are surface scratches and scuffs from handling and storage, and there is some discoloration around the edges of the decal, including a line on sale where the clear plastic wrap ends - See pictures for details.

By buying a vintage lighter, you are committing to lowering your carbon footprint. Though they may take more maintenance than a modern disposable lighter, these lighters were meant to be used for a lifetime. They can be refilled with flint and lighter fluid time and time again, the wick and wadding can be replaced when necessary, and are eternally fixable. Buy a reusable lighter, and help cut down on the excess of plastic waste.

Lighter will ship with a flint installed. To use the lighter, remove the larger screw and soak the cotton wadding inside with lighter fluid and it's ready to light.
