The carpet you can see here is a witness of the existence of a tradition, present in Macedonian house whether on the floor or on the walls. This carpet is manually weaved on a horizontal loom, using a technique of perpendicular double row threads at the back and the front.
Our Macedonian carpets and Pirot carpets are largely influenced by the oriental kilims. They comprise many parts so called "teni". The most common materials used wool, cotton and yarn. This carpet was put on the floor in the spacious guest rooms, where hosts were receiving guests for every special occasion. That is why on sale most of these carpets (for special occasions) are kept very well and with strong colors.
Traditional carpet handmade and woven on a horizontal loom. Made from natural materials, pure, organic wool. The carpet is made of three parts, teni. It is kept in a very good condition, without damages.
