Vintage 23 piece ceramic black and brown hand painted tea set made in Japan. This tea set has 23 pieces but is not a complete set, it includes a pitcher, creamer, 5 tea cups, 8 saucers and 7 small bread plates. The pattern is hand painted on in black and brown with a beige color glaze, there are no chips but one tea cup has a hairline crack ( shown in photo ). There is crazing to the glaze and some darkening to the color on the tea cups all which are consistent with age and use. Overall this set is in great condition.
