LWW cutting boards are made with function and design in mind. Made from specifically chosen on sale woods to last decades while elevating the décor in the kitchen. Designed to have the end grain of the wood on the cutting face of the board to keep knives sharper, longer. Cutting on the end grain allows the sharp edge of the knife to cut in-between the wood fibers. This leaves the fibers intact increasing the life of the cutting board and will not dull the edge of the blade as quickly as other types of cutting boards. LWW cutting boards are finished by soaking with food-grade mineral oil and then have a blend of food-safe mineral oil and beeswax melted into the fibers of the board to give a food-safe, natural finish.
