Our small Mission style single floating wall sconce is constructed of quarter sawn white oak (shown) or plain sawn red oak. The shelf is available in any of our standard finishes. The shelf measures 13 inches tall by 12 inches wide overall. The shelf board is 12 inches by 5 inches deep with a chamfered edge on the bottom side. The shelf is supported by a 13 inch tall by a 6 inch wide on sale frame of pegged, mortise and tenon, construction. The shelf installs into slots milled into the frame, secured with connector nuts from the back.
Assembly and Mounting ...
The shelf is shipped partially disassembled. Assembling the shelf only requires a Philips screwdriver to install a screw into a pre-drilled hole and a supplied hex key to tighten connector nuts that secure the shelf to the frame. This is a light duty shelf and must not be used to display heavy objects. It is designed to display items like framed pictures and other light objects.
The shelf has two vertical slots milled into the back for secure mounting to the wall using drywall anchors and screws. Drywall and screws are included along with locator pins that indicate the exact locations where the drywall anchors are to be installed in the wall. Assembly and mounting instructions are included.
Note that our standard finishes shown in the finish sample image will appear differently when applied to red oak versus quarter sawn white oak. The finish may appear darker or lighter than on red oak depending on the amount of porous grain figure present.
