Black and White Polka Dot Contemporary Porcelain Vase on sale

Handmade black and white porcelain vase. Wheel thrown and footed. White teardrop shapes framed in a black neck and foot are carved one by one through black slip to expose the white of the porcelain. The on sale slight divots made by the carving add a tactile as well as visual quality to the surface. Catching the light these marks have a slight blue/black quality at the edges where the slip bleeds with the melt of the glaze adding a subtle color shift in the white porcelain.

This design was chosen for the decor of the new Louis Vuitton store in Tampa. Looks great with red flowers!
