This Mala is made with 6 mm genuine Amethyst beads from Brazil. The round Magnesite Lotus Flower side markers are placed after the 21st stations in the Buddhist/Tibetan style in this piece.
This mala has a silver-plated Lotus center amulet so that it rests at the base of your skull. My belief is that this amulet/marker provides additional messages and connects you directly to your Higher Self and Center of Head Space. The station markers are placed to remind you where you are in your meditation and mantras to ease the flow of your meditation and chants.
The piece is hand knotted by me and finished with a round Magnesite Lotus Flower bead, and finished off with a purple tassel.
Each Mala is designed and handmade by Michele and is a one-of-a-kind piece of art. The piece is made with loving intentions and prayers, and blessed with Reiki Energy.
Types of beads and items used in this mala:
•Amethyst: One of the power stones. Worn by healers, as it has the power to focus energy. A meditative and calming stone which works in the emotional, spiritual, and physical planes to promote calm, balance and peace.
•Lotus Flower: In Buddhist symbolism, the lotus is symbolic of purity of the body, speech, and mind as while rooted in the mud, its flowers blossom on long stalks as if floating above the muddy waters of attachment and desire.
The beads used are made from natural stone (unless otherwise noted) and have expected variations in hue and texture. Some expected irregularities may occur and are thought to enhance the beauty of the natural product.

WHY I USE 6MM BEADS

WHY I USE 6 mm STONES instead of the larger 8 mm stones. The use of 108 of the 6 mm stones are obviously lighter. The use of the 8 mm stones wind up making the necklace much longer and, therefore, heavier. Since the 8 mm mala is longer, it is sometimes necessary for the wearer to wrap the mala twice around the wearer's neck. With the 6 mm mala, the length of the mala (and tassel) usually winds up around the Solar Plexus Chakra; or, at the longest, the Sacral Chakra.

Buddhist prayer beads or malas are a traditional tool used to count the number of times a mantra is recited, breaths while meditating, counting prostrations, or the repetitions of a buddha's name. Why 108 Beads in a Mala?
Many reasons have been given around the number 108. Some reasons are: (a) There are 54 letters in the Sanskrit alphabet. Each has masculine and feminine, shiva and Shakti. 54 times 2 is 108; (b) There are said to be 108 energy lines to form the heart chakra. One of them, susumna leads to the crown chakra, and is said to be the path to self-realization; (c) 108 – some say that 1 stands for God or Higher Truth, 0 stands for emptiness and completeness in spiritual practice, and 8 stands for infinite or eternity.
