1805 Botanical on sale Engraving - Erica Fastigiata, Original Antique Print, Large Hand Colored Print for Framing
Antique botanical engraving depicting Erica Fastigiata. A large early 19th Century engraved print with beautiful original hand coloring. The on sale print comes from Henry Charles Andrews' "Coloured Engravings of Heaths. The drawings taken from living plants only. With the appropriate specific character, full description, native place of growth, and time of flowering of each; in Latin and English. Each figure accompanied by accurate dissections of the several parts (magnified where necessary,) upon which the specific distinction has been founded, according to the Linnaean System." Andrews massive work was published in four volumes, volumes two and three of which were printed by R. Taylor in London between 1802 and 1809.

Condition:
Very good for age, clean and unmarked with vibrant original hand color. A beautiful antique print for framing!
