on sale A scarce-to-find small lacquer box made by hand in the shape of a story book and featuring a woodland scene from a long-ago Russian fairy tale.

In extremely fine condition.

The front has a enchanting hand-painted illustration in naïf style and on the back is written the name of the village where this was made - MSTERA - in gold Cyrillic script. Alongside are the initials AK which could possible belong to the renowned artist A. Kalinichenko.

The interior is a rich shade of scarlet red and the whole piece is absolutely stunning. Perfect to collect, display or to gift.
