Brain oligodendrocyte on sale sculpture on podium - Maple on Walnut

Oligodendrocytes' primary function is to help the propagation of information within the brain, sheathing axons of neurons.

This myelinating oligodendrocyte was cut out of maple wood with a scroll on sale saw and edges were soften with a router and a lot of sanding. It is about 5 inches tall and sits on a solid walnut podium.

Magnets connect the cell to the podium.
