Measurements are taken with garments laying flat. The listed bust, waist, sleeve width, hips, thigh, and ankle measurements are determined by measuring across and doubling the amount.

The rise is measured starting at the top of the inseam / crotch, or where the legs meet, then up to the waistband. The rise tells you where the jeans, pants or shorts will rest on your body.

Because vintage sizing tags are different from modern sizing, comparing the Measuring Guide measurements to a similarly cut garment you own is helpful.
