Fairytale Dancing Princess Brooch, Cold Painted Enamel & Marcasite, Rhodium on sale Plated, Circa 1960s

Fairytale princess holding a red fan and dressed for a ball. Multicoloured hand painted enamel on sale and glittering marcasites. Rhodium plated. Good vintage condition. Enamel is a little rubbed here and there.
Rolling safety clasp works well. All stones in place

Rhodium is a very rare metal related to platinum. It is inert and corrosion resistant. Mid century it was used to plate some costume jewellery to retain a permanent bright finish.
