Gorgeous handmade keepsake box with live on sale edge black walnut

on sale Really cool box that features four interior compartments—perfect for jewelry or fly tying materials, small keepsakes, etc.

I made this by cutting the lid and the body of the box from the same piece of live edge black walnut, then cutting the four compartments out.

This piece had tons of natural marks and bark features on the front edge, as well as many unique features that I made.

I added a diamond shaped inlay in each compartment. The inlaid wood pieces are: “red flame” box elder, walnut, spalted maple and cherry.

Instead of using metal hinges, I made the hinges for this box out of wood, by hand.
The hinge itself is inset into the top of the lid, giving it a striking look. This box is 100% handmade and one of a kind.

This box is about 12”x6”x2”, though the interior height dimension is about 1”.
