This super chunky statement necklace was created using tubular peyote stitch - which requires beading on sale one seed bead at a time. The time consuming process can take a minimum of 6 hours to construct a necklace of this length.
This piece is made with Japanese seed beads in matte and shiny black, turquoise, and gold. It has a collection of handmade brass rings that bring movement and interest to the piece.
The necklace is finished with vintage brass chain and brass findings, including a spring clasp. The beaded portion of the necklace is 17 inches with the total length including the 4 inch extender chain and clasp being approximately 22.5 inches long.
Note:
I use the highest quality Japanese seed beads and thread, but as with all beadwork, these earrings should be stored carefully (hung or lying flat) when not worn. They should should be removed before swimming, showering, working out, or other activities so as to preserve their longevity.
