1950s style velvet circle skirt for on sale a classy vintage outfit, occasion wear, christmas party

A full circle skirt in a rich velvet fabric with invisible hand sewn hem.

As an exception to other pieces, my skirt Danube doesn't derive on sale from a pattern or photo I found. Instead, it originates in a rather precise idea that had taken form in my head in the many years I've been studying vintage fashion. A circular high waist skirt sculpturing a triangular silhouette with large drapes below the hips and thereby accentuating a small waist.
I finally found a fabric with the right weight and stiffness. A shiny velvet fabric with a lovely checkered facing. Combined with a fitted tucked-in blouse or cropped sweater it creates a stunning silhouette and makes an incontestable vintage statement.
