ANTIQUE PORCELAIN DOLL Bust, Tea Cozy, Pin Cushion, Hand Painted, Half Doll Tea Cosy

This gorgeous young lady is quite rare, hand painted and can be used as the base for a pin cushion or tea cozy. She is made of white porcelain with black hair, blue eyes, and reddish pink lips and blushing cheeks. Perfect for a vintage home accent, inside a curio, secretary or antique hutch.

Half Doll Pin Cushions date back to the 1800s when they were sewn onto a ball and covered with a taffeta or silk dress with or without ruffles and lace. They were also used to adorn whisk brooms and as the base for tea cozies, kleenex box covers and powder boxes. Very few are in circulation today due to the fragile nature of the half doll.

Condition:
Excellent vintage condition with no chips, cracks or crazing present.
