Gorgeous vintage turquoise blue glass "used in the actual old "Cal-Neva Casino" in Reno Nevada ashtray. It measures about 3.5" inches square, AND a vibrant turquoise blue colored glass ashtray circa 1960's or early 70's from the Golden Gate Casino in Fabulous Downtown Las Vegas.
Cal-Neva opened March 30th, 1962. It is one of the most Historic Casinos in Northern Nevada.
Today Club Cal-Neva (as it is now called) remains one of the last remaining of Reno's original Casinos.
This very RARE blue colored glass ashtray is in Great "used vintage" condition, one tiny chip on the inside top rim (see photo) no cracks, and artwork on the bottom is still Perfect!
The Golden Gate is also one of the oldest Hotel/Casinos in Las Vegas, or Nevada for that matter! It originally opened in 1905 as a temporary tent hotel, and was called "The Miller Hotel", then they constructed a permanent Hotel structure in January 1906, and it was called The Hotel Nevada. A statewide gambling ban took effect in 1909.
In 1931 the property was expanded and re-named Sal Sagev which is Las Vegas spelled backwards! The Casino re-opened that year when on sale gambling in Nevada was legalized again. In 1955, the Casino was renamed as the Golden Gate. It is still in business today 115 years later!
