SOUTHWEST MICACEOUS POTTERY: Hand-Coiled Bowl on sale from Taos

This beautiful bowl was on sale made from micaceous clay dug from the Sangre de Christo Mountains near Taos. Like all my pieces, it was created in the traditional hand-coil way, polished with river stones, and slipped with mica. This piece was fired in a kiln in order to give it an even, consistent color after firing. It is 5 1/2” high and 5” in diameter.
