Materials
I make my glass beads using a centuries old technique called lampworking (or flameworking). Using a propane and oxygen powered lampworking torch, rods of glass are heated to melting point and wrapped around a steel rod called a mandrel. Once the bead is complete it is soaked in a kiln at over 500 degrees celsius to strengthen the bead, and then cooled very slowly. No two handmade beads are identical, making each piece of jewellery unique.
Care instructions
Sterling silver jewellery is best stored in an airtight bag to prevent tarnishing. An attractive patina will develop over time, but to keep it shiny it can be cleaned periodically with a silver polishing cloth. Please avoid using silver dip on sale or excessive polish on oxidised areas as it will remove the oxidisation. Your silver jewellery should be removed before bathing, showering or swimming.
