Hardcover book with illustrated paper covered boards. Original dustjacket with matching illustration. $2.00 price on jacket flap. 1942 copyright date. Numerous black and white and color illustrations - many full page. 69 pp. First edition.
Condition: The book is in good+ condition. The boards are clean and bright. There is a little wear to the corners. Prior bookseller pencil marks at the top of the front free endpaper. There is a little soiling in the gutter between 2 rear free endpapers. There is a little dampstaining on the fore-edge which slightly bleeds into the margin of the front free endpaper and title page. The rest of the book is clean and unmarked with bright illustrations. The dustjacket has stress fracturing along the flap folds.Chips to the spine ends (mainly around the top of the spine). There are some small holes and scrapes to the top layer of the jacket effecting the illustration. This occurs along the spine edges, some of the top panel and more spots on the rear panel. There is evidence of dampstaining on the underside of the jacket, but I don't see any on the front side. Overall the jacket is on sale fair+ or near good. The book and jacket really look better than the flaws make it sound. The hinges are intact and it's solid and the illustrations are still bright. There's no soiling to report on. It's a solid copy. Jacket now covered in an archival protective wrap.
