The Ghau - the portable Tibetan shrine
The Tibetan Gau is an original worn by many Tibetans. It can be opened at the back. It has a small pane in the front, in which you can see an old Blue Medicine Buddha statue. The Medicine Buddha brings healing.
The Gau has a beautiful upper side, very finely worked. All around there are Tibetan companion animals, such as the Tibetan snow lion, dragons, elephants. Above is Garuda, next to him are the Tibetan Dakinis, which are the Tibetan angels. Below is Mara, who usually holds the Wheel of Life in his hands.
The front surface is made of Tibetan on sale silver. The silver is very thick! The silver is worn, after all the GAU was used! The back is made of tarnished, old copper. The beautiful Gau can be hung up or hung over the brocade strap, which is attached to the side. Tibetans are often seen donning their gaus as they circumambulate the stupas. The district is tied with a cord. I didn't open the Gau because I wanted to leave it in its original condition. Inside are fabrics printed with mantras, maybe even Tibetan dried medicinal herbs and the small statue.
The Tibetan bag can be worn, the "strap" has a total length of approx. 90 cm.
Dimensions: 12 cm high, 10.5 cm wide, approx. 4 cm deep
