About the artist:

It is hard to piece together the whole story about Douglas W. Trowbridge. It seems that he studied art in Minnesota but took up residence in Kansas where he began exhibiting in the early 1970s and where he gained notoriety. He is the winner of many awards and competitions and a member of a number of professional artists groups including the NWS (National Watercolor Society). His subject matter has evolved considerably and includes many realist and impressionist nature, landscape and wildlife paintings. although that site seems kind of dated.
