Custom Pet Portrait on Canvas on sale 20 x 20 inches, lifelike Memorial portrait, realistic digital pet portrait, best pet portrait
Imagine your precious pet's expression, likeness and personality captured in a unique and eye-catching work of art! Working from your ideas and photos, I'll create a detailed, realistic and heartwarming painting which you'll treasure! My mixed media approach combines the best aspects of traditional painting (oil, pastels or acrylics) and digital freehand painting with a stylus and drawing tablet to achieve an elegant portrait with a very realistic likeness. I spend a great deal of time painting each portrait, working through several different stages to showcase all the precious details of the subject! You will be a part of the creative process as I send photos of the work in progress and have you weigh in on the details!
You'll receive an actual handcrafted, physical finished archival artwork, NOT a hastily prepared digital file which you would have to figure out how to print and finish. Please click on the images to zoom in and see the before and after shots and to see how my painting technique shows loads of luscious brush strokes, dimension, careful detail and gorgeous colors! I'm an award winning professionally trained artist with over 35 years of painting and illustration experience. Capturing your pet's personality and likeness is my most important work as an artist! Each portrait is unique and stunningly lifelike! Click on the "Meet the shop owner" link below and watch my video portfolio to learn more.

Please send me a message if you have questions or need help!
1. CHOOSE YOUR SIZE AND CHOICE OF PAPER OR STRETCHED CANVAS:
Hand painted mixed on sale media digital portraits on museum quality watercolor PAPER (archival giclee) will require mats and glass when framed. The archival canvas portraits are stretched and ready to frame. I also offer luminous portraits on metal, gallery wrapped canvases and custom gallery framing upon request. Second originals can be ordered at 1/2 the cost of the original painting, so you can easily get extras to give as gifts! When choosing the size, consider where it will be displayed, the distance of the viewers and also the added dimensions of the mat and frame. Larger sized paintings will show off the animal's details more clearly, but I'm an accomplished miniature artist, so even if you choose a small size it will look great! The larger the portrait size you choose, the more detail can be included. 8" x 10" size and smaller are recommended for small pets, or just a head and shoulder view. Consider your pet's size when choosing your size....these are stunning when the pets are depicted life size or larger!
2. CHOOSE YOUR PHOTOS:
My portraits are highly custom paintings, and include custom backgrounds or color schemes. I am used to working with several photos for reference, so I don't need perfect photos. Send some jpeg photos of your pet and tell me about his personality! We'll share ideas and I'll answer your questions.
3. THE INTERACTIVE PAINTING PROCESS...
Once the order is placed, I'll create layout sketches which will help you to visualize and choose your final composition. As I paint your pet, I'll include you in the creative process by sending images of the work in progress. Working together this way, we'll make sure that all the details (composition, personality, eye and fur color, etc.) are perfect! It's fun to see your portrait come to life!
4. DELIVERING YOUR ART!
When the painting is finished and approved, I'll carefully package, insure and ship it to you! Client Testimonials:
"This portrait of my Black Labrador turned out beautifully. I cannot wait to give it to my dad for Christmas. It is going to bring him so much joy. Thank you so much and for the great communication along the way."
"Thank you so much for your stunning portrait of our Golden Retriever Felix. It captures not only his likeness but also his personality I feel as if he is smiling at me from the picture. The play of light on his fur is beautiful, and I like how the brush strokes on his tail suggest the movement of a happy wag. As you know we will soon have to give up Felix when he goes on the complete his advanced training to become an assistance dog, so this portrait means a great deal to us. Whenever we look at it, we will remember the delightful year he spent with us as our foster care puppy. Thanks again for the car and skill you put into this painting." Julie S., Ann Arbor , MI
