Fenton Beaded Melon Style Goldenrod Cased Glass Ruffled Vase Bowl, 6 1/2" ia x 3"H, Excellent vintage condition. Fenton Beaded Melon Style Goldenrod Ruffled Vase. 3 1/2" high and 4 1/2" wide Vase. No chips or cracks. Very good vintage condition. These beautiful and very rare-to-find, Fenton glass, vintage 1956, "beaded melon" pieces have a ruffled, double crimped bow top edge, and are in perfect condition. They are milk white on the outside and bright goldenrod yellow on the interior. Fenton produced the #711 Beaded Melon pattern in the early 1950s, but made this yellow color, which they called "Goldenrod," during the latter half of 1956 only. And, the color was used on only a handful of different shapes. Fenton found it difficult to keep the intensity and hue of the "Goldenrod" color consistent, and so the color ranges from a very bright yellow--like this bowl--to a sort of goldenish/amber color. Due to this problem, the color was discontinued after only on sale a brief run!.
