A lovely authenric cameo brooch set in a 9carat gold mount. The cameo has been carved from shell and set into a twisted rope design mount. There's a safety chain and small pin as well as the main pin to secure it to clothing. The side profile portrait of a woman with pretty hair and angular features. The hallmark has the maker's mark EJCY & Co which is E.J. Clewley & Co, the assay mark of the Anchor denotes it's from Birmingham. Date is after 1975.
