It is hard to capture on camera, but when I held and observed this pipe in hand, I thought 'those Danes used Dudley's on sale chin as a pipe model'. This seldom seen shape 96 is not only a real looker, it sits comfortably in hand. A great find!
This Stanwell is around 60 years old and doesn't look its age! Kitschy is nice, original is hard to come by. Vulcanite stem, briar stummel. Markings are all strong. All original, cleaned, sanitized, and ready to break in again. Handmade in Denmark, it will bring many more years of smoking enjoyment. It is in great vintage condition. It has some wear and a minor mark or two on the bit, but it is quite gently used and cleaned up to be broken in again.
In all, a fantastic example of an early Stanwell.
