1920s French Gift Tag, on sale Bonne Fete, happy birthday, celebration or name day with cute puppy, red roses and embossed Art Deco lettering.

1920 small vintage French gift card tag shows a little puppy playing with a pin rose from a vase of red roses. Bonne Fete is embossed gold in beautiful Art Deco lettering. The edges are slightly fluted.

Bonne Fete literally translates as 'Have a good Celebration'. It can take on different meanings depending on the decade and country. In French speaking Canada today it means 'Happy Birthday'. Here in France it would mean in celebration of your name day, so if you were Patrick, you might be given this card on St Patrick's Day. Whichever meaning you wish to use, it will make a unique gift tag for someone special.

This small card measures: 12 cm (4 3/4 inches) wide by 5.8 cm (2 1/4 inches) high.

This is a vintage item bordering on antique from the 1920s. It is blank on the back and in very good condition with no creases. There on sale are some age marks near the lettering (see pictures). The card is thick and solid and has some age to it.
