You could say I was on the fence, the fence line to be more exact.
I'd been growing there for nearly my whole life. Come think of it, no, it was my whole life.
A farmer who owns the land I was rooted in decided I was too much of a hassle where I stood. So you know what he did to me? He pushed me over with a bulldozer. What kinda way is that to treat me?
Luckily I was laying there on the ground along the road that Kent runs on in the mornings. He saw me from half a mile away. He even stopped running just to come over and see me.
Before long he was treating me with the respect I deserve. Piece by piece he carefully moved me off that ground and turned me into to what you see here.
Hey, I can live with you now, if you'd like. If not, at least I'm in better hands now and I'm looking better than ever!

All my wood turned bowls are finished with food safe finishes. Avoid the microwave and dishwasher and do not submerge in water. Wipe clean with warm water and soap and wipe dry.
Each of my one-of-a-kind turnings starts at the wood, obviously. But most important to me, every piece I turn is from reclaimed, salvaged or found wood. Taking wood that is neglected and potentially sent off to rot, decay, or worse, burn and turning it into an heirloom creation on sale is one of the most satisfying processes I know. And now you can own the rewards of this incredible process.
Wooden bowls turned from wet “green wood” can shift and distort as they dry to create beautiful wavy rims and natural shapes only available through nature. More formal round bowls are created through a process called twice-turning. The bowl shape is “roughed” and allowed to dry and distort, then the bowl is returned to the lathe and turned a second time revealing a truer round shape. Since the wood is drier for the second turning, it does not distort like a once-turned “green wood” bowl.
