Lovely hand carved vintage shell cameo in a yellow gold plated mount. Victorian or Edwardian dating from around 1910. Measures approximately 35 mm long and 25 mm wide. Cameos were very popular in the late Victorian and early Edwardian periods, often depicting classical figures from ancient Rome or Greece. Cameo brooches can be worn on a lapel, a hat or a bag or belt for a touch of unique style. Fine vintage condition.
